I suppose that I have done almost everything in a church but preach the sermon. I have sung in the choir, been cantor, done gardening and landscaping, taken the preacher's place when he had to be gone unexpectidly, given presentations to church council members as well as being a member of the church council.

I'm not saying that I deserve any special recognition or that any one else couldn't do better. I think of all the horrendous mistakes in my life and wonder how the Lord has that much forgiveness for me. But He does.

I have never had a personal experience with the Lord where I know He is talking to me. But one thing that I can attest to is when I am really really feeling down about myself He always manages to turn it around and put a smile on my face. Do I just give up and deny His existence in my life? No, absolutely not! Because I realize the alternate is even worse and more uncertain.

So, if Jesus was so merciful to give His life for me, He also did it for others with the only requirement that we believe in Him and His loving advice to us. So, regardless of how bad things go for me (and now they're the worst in my life) I will still praise His holy name.
